UPDATE: Few spots remain in our 2006-2009 and 2011-2012 birth year Boys player groups and 2006-2009 Girls player groups. Wait list for all other player birth years.

Are you ready to continue the soccer FUN in the off-season this Winter? Shade 1-on-1 is excited to announce we will once again offer club neutral Futsal competitive teams. The best part is with our increase in coaching staff we are now able to offer even more player age groups for the 2022-2023 season!

What is Futsal? Futsal is a 5v5 small sided, skill-oriented game that tests a player's abilities at every level, whilst developing all-around individual technique. It is the only indoor version of soccer sanctioned by FIFA and is played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, low bounce ball. Why Futsal? Futsal’s fast-paced and continuous nature helps improve a player’s spatial intelligence and ability to learn to read the game. With constant opponent pressure, a 4 second restart rule, and without a wall or rebound boards to aid in the escape from tight situations, players learn to make quick passes and supporting runs, placing a premium on the player's ball control, movement, timing, and passing accuracy. Being small-sided, futsal players experience increased touches in all functions of the game (attacking, defending, and transitions), thus allowing them to develop holistically regardless of positioning.

SHADE 1-ON-1 WINTER FUTSAL 2022-2023 SEASON DETAILS:

• Seeking Player Groups: BOYS U10 to U18; GIRLS U14 & U16
• Teams will be limited to 10 players each - No Exceptions
• Winter Futsal Season Fee: $309 per player (does not include uniform costs)
• 8 regular season games at Benfield Sports Center in Millersville, MD starting the first weekend of December 2022
• 4 to 5 tournament games at the Ocean City Futsal Classic the weekend of February 10-12, 2023
• 13 team training indoor sessions (7 weeks = 1x a week, 3 weeks = 2x a week)
• Training begins the week of November 21st; ends the weekend of February 12th
• No games or team training during the weeks of Christmas and New Years
• Teams will train at one of two locations: The Edge on Kent Island OR the BAAM Center in Easton
• Each team's training location will be based on where the majority of the players for that specific team reside
• Uniform Fee: $60 per player; NOTE: Those who participated last year are not required to purchase a new uniform (can purchase individual replacement pieces vs whole uniform if different sizes needed)

ACCEPTANCE TIMELINE:

• Teams will be formed, and players will be notified of acceptance, no later than Tuesday October 25th with a link to register online.
• Registration including payment must be completed no later than 11:59PM Thursday October 27th.

IMPORTANT - PLAYER PARTICIPATION WAIVER MUST BE SIGNED:
